{"id":1188,"date":"2023-12-06T14:38:34","date_gmt":"2023-12-06T14:38:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/?p=1188"},"modified":"2023-12-08T09:46:28","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T09:46:28","slug":"woodcraft-wandering-towers-take-home-flemish-game-of-the-year-prizes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2023\/12\/06\/woodcraft-wandering-towers-take-home-flemish-game-of-the-year-prizes\/","title":{"rendered":"Woodcraft, Wandering Towers take home Flemish game of the year prizes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/355093\/woodcraft\">Woodcraft<\/a>, the woodworking eurogame designed by Vladim\u00edr Such\u00fd and Ross Arnold, has scooped the <a href=\"https:\/\/goudenludo.be\/\">Gouden Ludo<\/a> Flemish expert game of the year prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The win marks the first time Belgian publisher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jumpingturtlegames.be\/\">Jumping Turtle Games<\/a> has scored a win in the awards, having come close last year with the nomination of <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/283393\/aquatica\">Aquatica<\/a> in the expert category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/355483\/wandering-towers\">The Wandering Towers<\/a>, a game from Michael Kiesling and Wolfgang Kramer which garnered a lot of attention at Essen Spiel 2022, won the family game of the year category. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dutch version of the game is published by Netherlands-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotgames.nl\/\">Hot Games<\/a>, who won last year&#8217;s expert game category with <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/310873\/carnegie\">Carnegie<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wandering Towers&#8217; win means it has done the double of Dutch language awards this year, having already scooped the 2023 Nederlandse Spellenprijs for best family game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gouden Ludo has been awarded each year since 2009, when Matt Leacock&#8217;s Pandemic became the first to win the prize.
