in the final edition of the new Puerto Rico, but did not respond to questions about the apparent use of AI in creating the crowdfunding campaign launch images.

BoardGameWire also contacted Ravensburger about the company’s AI art policies and for comment on the art in Puerto Rico special edition, but was told it would take until at least the end of the West Coast US working day to formulate a response. That response is included in this follow-up article.

For more stories like this direct to your email inbox, click here to sign up for BoardGameWire’s free email newsletter.

And if you’ve found our reporting interesting or useful, please consider a paid subscription to help support our journalism!

A newly-announced deluxe edition of classic economic strategy game Puerto Rico has come under fire after promotional images for the campaign appeared to show tell-tale signs of using AI to create the artwork.

[3
404,774,405,650,6,25,825,26,771,772,189
post-1746","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-ai","tag-ai-art","tag-art","tag-awaken-realms","tag-board-game","tag-crowdfunding","tag-deluxe","tag-gamefound","tag-puerto-rico","tag-puerto-rico-1897","tag-ravensburger
["GET
