{"id":1890,"date":"2024-03-25T13:48:05","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T13:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/?p=1890"},"modified":"2024-03-25T13:50:58","modified_gmt":"2024-03-25T13:50:58","slug":"looping-games-co-founder-leaves-to-launch-new-company-kokorin-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/25\/looping-games-co-founder-leaves-to-launch-new-company-kokorin-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Looping Games co-founder leaves to launch new company Kokorin Games"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Perepau Llistosella, the co-founder of Spanish board game publisher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loopinggames.com\/\">Looping Games<\/a>, has left the company to launch his new business Kokorin Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looping said Ferran Renalias, the designer of Looping games including <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/367280\/1998-iss\">1998: ISS<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/393456\/1902-melies\">1902: M\u00e9li\u00e8s<\/a>, would take on Llistosella&#8217;s role at the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Llistosella launched Looping in 2013 alongside artist Pedro Soto, founding the company to publish their debut game <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/124847\/1911-amundsen-vs-scott\">1911 Amundsen vs Scott<\/a> &#8211; an asymmetric card-based game recreating the race to become the first humans to reach the south pole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soto is still an integral part of the team as illustrator and graphic designer, and the firm also employs Pako Cantarero as international manager and systems specialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Kokorin Llistosella is planning a trio of releases this year based around George Orwell&#8217;s novel 1984.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A statement from Looping about Llistosella&#8217;s departure said, &#8220;We are very happy with his new career and we wish him the best of luck, although realistically&#8230; we know that luck is something he will not need.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looping&#8217;s releases last year included 1902 M\u00e9li\u00e8s, a game about making films at the birth of cinema.
