{"id":2046,"date":"2024-04-30T15:06:10","date_gmt":"2024-04-30T14:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/?p=2046"},"modified":"2024-04-30T15:12:56","modified_gmt":"2024-04-30T14:12:56","slug":"fallout-tabletop-game-sales-surge-for-modiphius-as-tv-show-draws-in-65-million-viewers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2024\/04\/30\/fallout-tabletop-game-sales-surge-for-modiphius-as-tv-show-draws-in-65-million-viewers\/","title":{"rendered":"Fallout tabletop game sales surge for Modiphius as TV show draws in 65 million viewers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tabletop gaming publisher Modiphius has seen sales of its Fallout-related products more than double month-on-month amid the huge popularity of Amazon Prime&#8217;s new Fallout TV show, which attracted 65 million viewers in just over two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amazon&#8217;s Fallout series is already the second-most-watched title ever on the streaming service after 2022&#8217;s The Rings of Power, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/tv\/news\/fallout-amazon-series-ratings-1235985817\/\">Variety reported late yesterday<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That popularity has boiled over into the gaming space, with a spokesperson for UK publisher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.modiphius.net\/\">Modiphius<\/a> telling BoardGameWire it had seen a surge of interest in its Fallout miniatures games and RPGs off the back of the TV show&#8217;s release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Modiphius produces the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare miniatures wargame as well as rulebooks and accessories for Fallout: The Roleplaying Game, and is set to release skirmish-level wargame Fallout Factions: Nuka World later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Fallout-Wasteland-Warfare.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2051\" style=\"width:536px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Fallout-Wasteland-Warfare.webp 800w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Fallout-Wasteland-Warfare-300x300.webp 300w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Fallout-Wasteland-Warfare-150x150.webp 150w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Fallout-Wasteland-Warfare-768x768.webp 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Fallout: Wasteland Warfare<br>Photo Credit: Modiphius<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The spokesperson said month-on-month sales had more than doubled across its Fallout products, adding that the company had noticed a particular surge in RPG sales and a &#8220;massive spike&#8221; in web traffic for Fallout Factions, which is currently on pre-order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They said, &#8220;The [RPG] core books sold out in the lead-up to the show\u2019s premiere &#8211; much quicker than expected &#8211; we are in the process of restocking and it&#8217;s currently available to pre-order. We had a similar run on Fallout: Wasteland Warfare Two-Player Starter Sets, which we should have back in stock in the next couple of weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We attended Salute 51 [Europe&#8217;s largest independent wargaming\u00a0event] recently and people were really interested in our forthcoming Fallout: Factions skirmish game, and the Fallout TV minis.
