after 17 years under its former brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CGE&#8217;s new logo adds a winking version of an astronaut from Vlaada Chv\u00e1til design <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/31481\/galaxy-trucker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Galaxy Trucker<\/a>, one of the first titles published by the company back in 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"420\" height=\"236\" src=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CGE-old-logo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3063\" style=\"width:350px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CGE-old-logo.png 420w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CGE-old-logo-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">CGE&#8217;s old logo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A statement from CGE said, &#8220;Our old logo felt elegant but a little too serious, so we wanted to update it to better represent the playful, fun-loving spirit of the company.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rebrand comes ahead of a new website design planned for next year, and follows CGE making the surprise move of <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/19\/codenames-publisher-czech-games-edition-has-bought-its-own-board-game-factory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">expanded into board game manufacturing six months ago by buying the factory it had used almost since its inception<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Czech Games\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2023\/07\/12\/czech-games-edition-to-shine-a-light-on-its-creative-process-in-8-part-documentary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">made a name for itself<\/a>\u00a0in the late 2000s with Vlaada Chv\u00e1til-designed games including Through the Ages, Galaxy Trucker and Space Alert, before striking it big with word-guessing game Codenames in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More recent releases include The Lost Ruins of Arnak, Under Falling Skies and Kutn\u00e1 Hora: The City of Silver, while its 2024 releases include the hotly anticipated <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/418059\/seti-search-for-extraterrestrial-intelligence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SETI: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence<\/a>, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/geekpreview\/68\/spiel-essen-24-preview?sort=hot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">currently top of the BoardGameGeek hotness charts in its Spiel Essen 2024 preview<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"468\" src=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Cool-Mini-or-not-logo-1024x468.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3064\" style=\"width:350px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Cool-Mini-or-not-logo-1024x468.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Cool-Mini-or-not-logo-300x137.jpg 300w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Cool-Mini-or-not-logo-768x351.jpg 768w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Cool-Mini-or-not-logo.jpg 1137w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Cool Mini Or Not&#8217;s logo before a 2016 rebrand<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Other board game-related rebrands in recent years include BoardGameGeek itself, which <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/thread\/2251632\/used-to-be-a-poll-about-the-logo-until-bgg-forced\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">unveiled a somewhat divisive new logo in 2019<\/a>, and CoolMiniOrNot, which updated its logo in 2016 amid a shift to rebranding itself as CMON.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pandasaurus Games revealed a new logo in 2020, saying at the time that while its old logo was adorable, it was also &#8220;hard to see and didn&#8217;t stand out on a shelf&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Industry heavyweight Asmodee updated a crisp new logo in 2017, replacing the three jolly, colourful waving squares it has used since 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"573\" height=\"539\" src=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Pandasaurus-old-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3065\" style=\"width:247px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Pandasaurus-old-logo.jpg 573w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Pandasaurus-old-logo-300x282.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 573px) 100vw, 573px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Pandasaurus Games&#8217;
