{"id":3424,"date":"2024-12-02T14:49:02","date_gmt":"2024-12-02T14:49:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/?p=3424"},"modified":"2024-12-03T14:50:19","modified_gmt":"2024-12-03T14:50:19","slug":"hachette-boardgames-seals-us-uk-distribution-deals-for-micromacro-publisher-edition-spielwiese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2024\/12\/02\/hachette-boardgames-seals-us-uk-distribution-deals-for-micromacro-publisher-edition-spielwiese\/","title":{"rendered":"Hachette Boardgames seals US, UK distribution deals for MicroMacro publisher Edition Spielwiese"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hachette.com\/en\/board-games\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Hachette Boardgames<\/a> has added another publisher to its ever-growing distribution business, scoring a deal to distribute MicroMacro publisher <a href=\"https:\/\/spielwiese-berlin.de\/edition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Edition Spielwiese<\/a>&#8216;s games in the US and UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edition Spielwiese has scored significant success with cartoon map-based deduction game MicroMacro since the launch of its debut title <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/318977\/micromacro-crime-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">MicroMacro: Crime City<\/a>, in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That game went on to win the Spiel des Jahres in 2021, as well as a string of other prizes including Most Innovative Board Game and Light Game of the Year in BoardGameGeek&#8217;s 2020 Golden Geek Awards, and the French As d&#8217;Or game of the year in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More MicroMacro titles are set to be announced next year, with the line falling under Hachette&#8217;s distribution in the second half of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edition Spielwiese games have been distributed in its home market of Germany by Pegasus Spiele since 2017, with the publisher&#8217;s North American arm handling US and Canada distribution in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A spokesperson for Hachette Boardgames told BoardGameWire that although exclusivity is not part of the contract, the company is &#8220;effectively the preferred partner for any titles coming out Edition Spielwiese, and for any titles we sign we will be the exclusive distributors&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other existing Edition Spielwiese titles will join Hachette\u2019s roster in 2025, including Wolfgang Warsch design <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/396542\/the-same-game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">The Same Game<\/a>, Uwe Rosenberg\u2019s &#8216;puzzle trilogy&#8217;
