{"id":4780,"date":"2025-07-15T10:45:34","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T09:45:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/?p=4780"},"modified":"2025-07-15T11:12:52","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T10:12:52","slug":"lucky-duck-brings-in-former-quartermaster-logistics-sales-director-matt-goldrick-to-boosts-b2b-localisation-licensing-arm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/15\/lucky-duck-brings-in-former-quartermaster-logistics-sales-director-matt-goldrick-to-boosts-b2b-localisation-licensing-arm\/","title":{"rendered":"Lucky Duck brings in former Quartermaster Logistics sales director Matt Goldrick to boosts B2B localisation, licensing arm"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Lucky Duck Games has brought in Quartermaster Logistics sales director Matt Goldrick as senior partner for its Global Publishing Network, the B2B localisation and licensing arm it launched two years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Goldrick previously spent almost five years with Quartermaster, joining as sales manager before being named director of sales and business development at the start of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to Quartermaster he spent a couple of years as manager of product development at Grey Fox Games, according to his LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lucky Duck, <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2024\/04\/23\/rummikub-maker-goliath-continues-push-into-hobby-gaming-with-lucky-duck-games-buyout\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">which was bought by Rummikub manufacturer Goliath last year<\/a>, was launched in 2016 by video game programmer Vincent Vergonjeanne to publish tabletop versions of digital games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Poland-based company kicked things off by raising about $236,000 through a Kickstarter for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/lucky-duck-games\/vikings-gone-wild-the-board-game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Vikings Gone Wild<\/a> the same year, before collecting about $800,000 for its first digital hybrid game <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/lucky-duck-games\/chronicles-of-crime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Chronicles of Crime<\/a> in 2018 and scoring its first $1m-plus Kickstarter in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/lucky-duck-games\/kingdom-rush-rift-in-time\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Kingdom Rush: Rift in Time<\/a> in 2019 &#8211; which rose to nearly $2m through further pledges on Gamefound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"361\" height=\"351\" src=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Chronicles-of-Crime.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4784\" srcset=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Chronicles-of-Crime.jpg 361w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Chronicles-of-Crime-300x292.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Chronicles of Crime from Lucky Duck Games<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The company expanded into the US in 2018, France in 2019, Poland in 2020 and Italy in 2022, and has since made a name for itself as a localiser of games such as Dune Imperium, Too Many Bones and Cascadia, as well as finding continued success with its own crowdfunding projects, including $1m-plus campaigns for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/lucky-duck-games\/chronicles-of-crime-the-millennium-series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Chronicles of Crime &#8211;
