{"id":5012,"date":"2025-09-26T13:29:44","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T12:29:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/?p=5012"},"modified":"2025-09-30T13:46:04","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T12:46:04","slug":"french-board-game-retailers-unveil-their-designer-illustrator-and-publisher-of-the-year-in-latest-prix-des-boutiques-ludiques-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/26\/french-board-game-retailers-unveil-their-designer-illustrator-and-publisher-of-the-year-in-latest-prix-des-boutiques-ludiques-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"French board game retailers unveil their designer, illustrator and publisher of the year in latest Prix des Boutiques Ludiques awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The designer and illustrator of co-operative card game <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/428787\/presages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Pr\u00e9sages<\/a> have both picked up awards in this year&#8217;s Prix des Boutiques Ludiques, chosen by French board game retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maxime Rambourg and Ben Renaut were joined as award winners this year by French board game publisher <a href=\"https:\/\/en.gigamic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Gigamic<\/a>, which won the prize for editorial work for its release Lula, a 144-piece children&#8217;s jigsaw puzzle across 18 boxes which &#8220;evolves&#8221; through mini-puzzles that are then assembled and nested together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pr\u00e9sages, which is published by Spiral Editions, sees players working together to get rid of cards until they have only one remaining in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual Prix des Boutiques Ludiques is awarded by the Groupement des Boutiques Ludiques, an association of French board game retailers created in 2016 &#8211; with the awards designed to highlight professions whose combined skills and passion give originality to games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"807\" height=\"535\" src=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Presages-Photo-Credit-Spiral-Editions.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5136\" srcset=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Presages-Photo-Credit-Spiral-Editions.jpg 807w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Presages-Photo-Credit-Spiral-Editions-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Presages-Photo-Credit-Spiral-Editions-768x509.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 807px) 100vw, 807px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Pr\u00e9sages || Photo Credit: Spiral Editions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Winning designer Rambourg is best known for his work creating games The Loop, The Big Book of Madness and Dracula vs Van Helsing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Runners up for this year&#8217;s designer award were Julien and\u00a0Tom Prothi\u00e8re for co-operative narrative work Fil Rouge, and Thomas Dagenais-Lesp\u00e9rance for children&#8217;s deduction game Mimose &amp; Sam et le Voleur de Fruits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/416851\/castle-combo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Castle Combo<\/a> artist St\u00e9phane Escapa and <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/435323\/15-jours-en-france\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">15 Jours en France<\/a> illustrator Julie Gruet picked up nominations for their artwork, while Ch\u00e8vre Edition\/Moon Editions and Disto Studio finished as runners up in the publisher awards for their work on <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/426519\/la-cour-de-versailles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">La Cour de Versailles<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamegeek.com\/boardgame\/433283\/daydream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Daydream<\/a> respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award was presented at this year&#8217;s Vichy Games Festival in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prix des Boutiques Ludiques 2025:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designer award: <br><strong>Winner: Maxime Rambourg, Pr\u00e9sages<\/strong><br>Julien and Tom Prothi\u00e8re, Fil Rouge<br>Thomas Dagenais-Lesp\u00e9rance, Mimose &amp;
