{"id":627,"date":"2023-06-22T12:29:22","date_gmt":"2023-06-22T11:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/?p=627"},"modified":"2023-06-22T12:29:22","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T11:29:22","slug":"asmodee-launches-new-distribution-business-to-get-english-titles-into-european-stores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2023\/06\/22\/asmodee-launches-new-distribution-business-to-get-english-titles-into-european-stores\/","title":{"rendered":"Asmodee launches new distribution business to get English titles into European stores"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Board game giant <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.asmodee.com\/\">Asmodee<\/a> has launched a new distribution business aimed at supplying &#8220;new, niche and hard-to-get&#8221; English-language titles to European retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asmodee already distributes games throughout Europe via a string of country-specific subsidiaries covering France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands and the Nordic countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it hopes its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epn-europe.com\/\">European Player Network<\/a> will help it speed up getting English tabletop games and RPGs to Europe-based stores via a single EU-based hub for shipping and distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Publishers currently listed on EPN&#8217;s web portal include Plaid Hat Games, Pandasaurus, Catalyst Games Labs and The OP, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asmodee said retailers would be able to order just a single copy of a game if they wish, but individual store orders will only be shipped when they reach the minimum order value of \u20ac500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registered retailers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epn-europe.com\/applicationform\">can apply to use the service here<\/a>, and Asmodee is also looking for more publishers to come on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this week it emerged Tomb Raider and Borderlands developer\u00a0Embracer Group<a href=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2023\/06\/21\/troubled-embracer-group-using-asmodee-ips-for-more-than-20-in-development-video-games\/\">\u00a0is planning a slew of video games based on\u00a0Asmodee\u2018s board game range<\/a>, as the company tries to leverage its intellectual property amid plans to slash its $1.45bn of debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asmodee is a huge part of Embracer\u2019s business, rivalling its PC and Console segment for overall sales.
