Savana Games<\/a>, the French publisher of small box games such as Traitors Aboard<\/a> and Emblems<\/a>, has made its first acquisition by picking up Beat That!<\/a> publisher Gutter Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UK-based Gutter Games, which was launced in 2017, is best known for dexterity challenge party game Beat That!, and has also published adult-themed party titles including Gutterhead<\/a> and Trunk of Drunk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gutter was bought by US Amazon aggregator Perch in 2021, which was itself acquired by private equity-backed Amazon FBA businesses operator Razor Group three years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Savana founder and president Romain Chemi\u00e8re de Carn\u00e9 told Mojo Nation<\/a>, “Gutter Games built something genuinely special – irreverent, high-energy games that travel across cultures and languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our intention is clear: restore the brand to the prominence it deserves, develop extensions and new entries in the Gutter Games universe, and further strengthen a portfolio that is already one of the most dynamic in the global board game industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This is our first M&A operation, and our first acquisition overseas – it demonstrates SAVANA\u2019s capability to execute complex international transactions, and it opens a new chapter in how we grow the business.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Savana also sells markers and crayons, nail stickers and temporary tattoos in addition to its line of board games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s game releases this year are set to include a One Piece version<\/a> of its pirates-themed social deduction game Traitors Aboard<\/a>, according to a listing on BoardGameGeek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
