Interactive tabletop gaming console maker The Last Gameboard<\/a> has kicked off its showcase at this year’s Game Manufacturer’s Association (GAMA) Expo<\/a> by announcing a clutch of new publishers being added to its 100-strong gaming library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They include 25th Century Games, publishers of games including Resist!, Three Sisters and the latest incarnation of Reiner Knizia’s auction and set collection classic Ra, and UK-based Big Potato Games, probably most famous for magnetic air hockey-like game Klask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fantastic Factory, a publisher of lighter party and trivia games, also joins the line-up, as does Cryptid Cafe maker Squatchy Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newcomers join a roster of digital adaptations including Terraforming Mars, Viticulture, Downforce and Steve Jackson’s 1977 debut game Ogre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Last Gameboard is hoping to draw people in with the ease of playing popular tabletop games face-to-face without the need for setup, as well as offering immersive audio, animations and the ability for physical game pieces to interact via the 22″ board in real-time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Users can also pair the device with smartphones and tablets, for games where players need to keep things like a hand of cards secret from each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company raised more than $185m on Kickstarter in 2020<\/a>, and followed that a year later with a $4m seed investment from backers including TheVentureCity, SOSV, Riot Games, Conscience VC and Corner3 VC<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Company co-founder and CEO Shail Mehta said, “When we created The Last Gameboard, we knew we’d only be as strong as the game titles in our library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’re thrilled to be adding such an awesome batch of brands to our list of partners, because we know it means we’re providing even more consumers with their favorite game on the best social gaming platform possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’re eager to share this news and demo Gameboard at GAMA, and hope to continue adding new titles to the mix.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company also revealed that its head of content Lee Allentuck has been appointed to GAMA’s board of directors, elected to represent the publishers membership group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s GAMA Expo, one of the board game industry’s biggest professional trade shows, runs between April 24 and 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
