{"id":808,"date":"2023-09-21T15:05:30","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T14:05:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/?p=808"},"modified":"2023-09-21T15:05:52","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T14:05:52","slug":"international-gamers-awards-picks-revive-oranienburger-kanal-as-2023-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2023\/09\/21\/international-gamers-awards-picks-revive-oranienburger-kanal-as-2023-winners\/","title":{"rendered":"International Gamers Awards picks Revive, Oranienburger Kanal as 2023 winners"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Civilization rebuilding eurogame Revive and Uwe Rosenberg&#8217;s Oranienburger Kanal have triumphed in this year&#8217;s International Gamers Awards, a global board game award series which has been running since 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Revive brought home the multiplayer award against stiff competition from popular games including Earth, which won the solo award category, Heat: Pedal to the Metal and this year&#8217;s Kennerspiel des Jahres winner Challengers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IGA is Revive&#8217;s first major board game award win, following nominations for the Golden Geek Heavy Game of the Year and the Goblin Magnifico heavy board gaming award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Oranienburger-Kanal.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-811\" width=\"258\" height=\"258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Oranienburger-Kanal.webp 600w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Oranienburger-Kanal-300x300.webp 300w, https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Oranienburger-Kanal-150x150.webp 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 258px) 100vw, 258px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The two-player award went to Rosenberg&#8217;s Oranienburger Kanal, which sees players square off against one another to build industries and transport links in 19th Century Brandenburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other nominees in the category included Undaunted: Battle of Britain, Splendor Duel and Wingspan Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IGA Solo Award, a new title created in 2021 amid the ongoing rise in solo board gaming, saw nominations for Eleven, Legacy of Yu and Resist!
