{"id":869,"date":"2023-10-03T10:55:38","date_gmt":"2023-10-03T09:55:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/?p=869"},"modified":"2023-10-04T10:43:44","modified_gmt":"2023-10-04T09:43:44","slug":"worms-board-game-still-on-schedule-despite-team17-restructuring-mantic-games-ceo-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boardgamewire.com\/index.php\/2023\/10\/03\/worms-board-game-still-on-schedule-despite-team17-restructuring-mantic-games-ceo-says\/","title":{"rendered":"Worms board game still on schedule despite Team17 restructuring, Mantic Games CEO says"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The board game adaptation of classic video game Worms remains on track for its delivery to Kickstarter backers next year despite the announced restructuring of development partner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.team17.com\/\">Team17<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manticgames.com\/\">Mantic Games<\/a> raised more than \u00a3530,000 last month <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/manticgames\/worms-the-board-game\">in the crowdfunding campaign for Worms: The Board Game<\/a>, which looks to bring weapon-toting worms made famous in the video game series to the tabletop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 5,800 backers are expecting delivery of the project in August next year &#8211; a target which has not shifted following Team17 entering a period of consultation over expected job losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Mantic Games CEO Ronnie Renton told BoardGameWire, &#8220;The Kickstarter campaign outperformed our expectations.
