Senet<\/a>, a quarterly magazine celebrating the beauty of board games, has been nominated for a pair of British Society of Magazine Editors awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nomination comes three years after Senet was launched by Dan Jolin, the former reviews and features editor of British film magazine Empire<\/a>, and art director James Hunter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jolin is up for Editor of the Year – Independent in this year’s BSME Awards, held on November 21, going head to head against editors of magazines including Rugby Journal and Slimming World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hunter, meanwhile, is shortlisted again for the Art Director of the Year – Independent award, a year after winning the gong for Senet in the Art Director of the Year – Consumer category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senet has made a name for itself since its Spring 2020 launch<\/a> as a beautiful product in and of itself, in addition to highlighting the art and craft of board gaming alongside regular previews, reviews, interviews and features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current issue includes an exclusive interview with veteran designer Reiner Knizia, a delve into the works of French board game artist Vincent Dutrait, and an exploration of the area control mechanism with interviewees including Martin Wallace and Ananda Gupta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
