WizKids rehires Vee Mus’e as senior marketing and communications manager
Board game and collectable miniatures specialist WizKids has rehired former marketing associate Vee Mus’e as a senior marketing and communications manager at the company.
Mus’e first joined WizKids in early 2020 to work on marketing and PR, before leaving in mid-2021 for a three-year stint at Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms developer Codename Entertainment.
She returns to WizKids amid the company prepping for a slate of 2025 board game releases, including Mage Knight: The Apocalypse Dragon the board game’s first major expansion in a decade, as well as DC Forever, the deckbuilder from former Android: Netrunner lead designer Damon Stone, and the recently unveiled Matthew Dunstan-designed city-builder Dungeons & Dragons: Builders of Baldur’s Gate.
Mus’e told BoardGameWire, “I’m looking forward to rejoining WizKids and being part of an industry that brings people entertainment, memories, and joy. The response to the news of my rejoining the team is wonderful and encouraging. I can’t wait to tap into my knowledge and skills to showcase upcoming launches.
“If I’ve learned anything, it’s vital to connect with people as individuals and respect what they bring to the table professionally. How you treat others and interact with them matters. You never know where paths will cross in the future so make sure the impression you leave is a positive one.”
WizKids was launched in 2000 by former Microsoft Games creative director Jordan Weisman to publish miniatures game Mage Knight, and went on to specialise in game systems including Heroclix, Star Trek: Attack Wing, Quarriors and Dice Masters.
Trading card and collectables major Topps bought the company in 2003, before selling on the majority of WizKids’ assets to current owner NECA in 2009.
The company signed a licensing agreement with Wizards of the Coast in 2014 for a line of pre-painted miniatures for Dungeons & Dragons, and expanded that partnership with licensing for Magic: The Gathering miniatures and board games three years later.
In 2019 the company announced a new licensing partnership with Hasbro, adding GI Joe, My Little Pony and Transformers to its line of miniatures.
