Board gaming’s most beautiful magazine is up for a pair of awards
Senet, a quarterly magazine celebrating the beauty of board games, has been nominated for a pair of British Society of Magazine Editors awards.
The nomination comes three years after Senet was launched by Dan Jolin, the former reviews and features editor of British film magazine Empire, and art director James Hunter.
Jolin is up for Editor of the Year – Independent in this year’s BSME Awards, held on November 21, going head to head against editors of magazines including Rugby Journal and Slimming World.
Hunter, meanwhile, is shortlisted again for the Art Director of the Year – Independent award, a year after winning the gong for Senet in the Art Director of the Year – Consumer category.
Senet has made a name for itself since its Spring 2020 launch as a beautiful product in and of itself, in addition to highlighting the art and craft of board gaming alongside regular previews, reviews, interviews and features.
The current issue includes an exclusive interview with veteran designer Reiner Knizia, a delve into the works of French board game artist Vincent Dutrait, and an exploration of the area control mechanism with interviewees including Martin Wallace and Ananda Gupta.
